This problem has been fixed in version 8.10. If you set Blend Ranges for a layer and then leave the Properties dialog box, you cant go back to the dialog box later to change the ranges reliably. Hold the shift key while double clicking the PSP shortcut from your desktop. Paint Shop Pro versions 8.0 and 8.01 have a bug that involves Blend Ranges. I'm not on a Win7 machine right now so can't do a play by play, but you basically find the program itself (not the shortcut from the start menu or desktop), right click it, and one of the tabs lets you choose what compatibility it will start in I'd choose XP, but you have a few options. Run the program in XP compatibility mode. You may get a message that says you need to restart your computer but that's not necessary. You'll now need to log off your Windows account and log back on. If it's change then click that and take the slider to the bottom to deactivate it. If it's Deactivate click that then click Launch button. The last tab (I think it's named tools) has something about activating, deactivating, or changing User Account Control. Type msconfig into the run box and hit enter. Turn off User Account Control if you haven't already done so.
I don't believe Corel has an update for that old of a version.
It is fine if you guys want to close out this ticket.I think by upgrade he really means update. In the end, I just posted this because, like I said in the beginning, I have been experiencing this issue for a few years and just thought that Microsoft might be interested to know that forcing people to stay current with Windows 10, it not always a positive Even if they did, I doubt that they would care about this issue. Greg: I always figured that by posting questions here, I WAS reporting issues to Microsoft but I realize now that Microsoft never sees these forums.
It is just that I am more familiar with how the old 32 bit version works so that is why I go back to that in a pinch. I also know that there is a newer 2019 version and I have also purchased and installed that. I do notice that after installing the CD to reactivate the app, that all of my history and setting preference have been erased so it is just like I am installing
Then I am fine until the next Windows update. Of minutes and then the application starts up. Once I do that, it run the CD for a couple However, although a bit older, but Corel Paint Shop Pro X still deliver a complete set of photo editing tools to help users create professional looking photos fast and easy. The new version is now at version 12.5 branded as Correl Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. Graeme: I can't tell if it might be a licensing issue, Paint Shop Pro starts up and the icon is still on my computer, but as it partially starts, it stops and asks me to insert the installation CD. Corel Paint Shop Pro X was originally released in 2005. Paint Shop Pro is an old 32 bit application and I just don't understand why Windows can't be made to update itself
Sarah: I don't really want to prevent Windows 10 updates so I don't think I want to use the "Pause Feature Update" option.

Hopefully that helps! Please let me know if you need anything else. JASC Paint Shop Pro is now called Paint Shop Pro 2019, so you can view more information about it here: If it's a licensing issue, then it's possible the Windows Update makes the program believe it's a new installation and requires activation again.īut if it's simply stopping the program from running correctly, you could try updating the program to the latest version from the website to see if it's more compatible with the latest Windows updates.
When you say that you have to insert the CD to reactivate the program, do you mean the program become unactivated in a licensing sense? Or does the app stop functioning properly after the update, perhaps showing error messages? H GF1, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.
